Norma Jeane's Lake View Resort
We are a comfortable 3 hour drive away from either Bulawayo or Harare, set in the granite hills and Msasa woodland overlooking Lake Mutirikwi (formerly Lake Kyle), which offers some of the best bass fishing in Southern Africa. The Great Zimbabwe Ruins, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are only a ten minute drive away.
Whilst we cater for all – we have a first rate camp site and budget accommodation – our emphasis is on comfortable accommodation for the more discerning visitor, offering fully furnished and equipped self catering lodges (ideal for fishing weekends and family getaways) and well appointed hotel rooms. We have a dining room for the use of our guests should they wish, providing breakfast, lunch and dinner and of course we have wi-fi so you can remain in touch with the rest of the world when you’re with us.
Whether you’re looking for a place to relax with your family or simply for somewhere to stay because you’re in Masvingo on business, look no further than us - we look forward to welcoming you !
We chose this hotel as a convenient base from which to visit the ruins of Great Zimbabwe. We had no great expectations but were very pleasantly surprised. Our room was large with bath and shower and was spotless, as was the rest of the hotel.

Got to this place by mistake and what a pleasant surprise. Situated on an uphill location, this place gives absolute fantastic views of Lake Mutirikwi. The famous islands are noticeable from the deck. Big and clear signage along MacDougall drive takes you to the place with ease.

Having just traveled through Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe I can safely say that Norma Jeane's campsites were the best we experienced during our extended overland journey. It is also a conveniently short drive from the ancient city of Great Zimbabwe. Norma Jean’s is an institution in this part of the world.
Norma Jeane's is a hospitable piece of Rhodesian history set in a glorious garden high on a slope overlooking the whole of Lake Kyle. The whole place, in huge grounds, has a feeling of space and calm, and the gardens alone would be a reason for staying. We always end up there for a night en route to somewhere else, and regret moving on. This could be a destination in itself. Try to stay at least a couple of nights.
